Jake Moore
Global Cybersecurity Advisor

As well as a crime enthusiast, I am the Global Cybersecurity Advisor for ESET, Europe’s leading cybersecurity company. I research and analyse the latest cybersecurity and AI threats and regularly provide expert commentary to media outlets including the BBC, ITV, The Independent and The Times, offering insight, advice and analysis on stories with a technology or security angle. Before joining ESET, I spent 14 years in the police force investigating computer crime in Dorset’s Digital Forensics Unit and Cyber Crime Team. I worked on hundreds of cases and frequently presented digital evidence in Crown Court for offences ranging from fraud to murder. In 2016, I was chosen to pilot a Home Office initiative to embed cybersecurity advisors within local police forces, helping businesses and communities strengthen their resilience against rising cyber threats. Today, amongst my research, I deliver engaging and interactive talks to businesses and conferences across the UK, sharing practical techniques to improve security. I have spoken to hundreds of organisations, from small enterprises to major companies such as IBM, Vodafone, Barclays, Tesco, the Bank of England and Facebook.
